Starting The Walsh Detox Programs

One of the aspects of my health journey I have known I needed to work on but never found the “right time” to do it was addressing toxicity.  As I am sure you are aware of, there are toxins all around us and they can accumulate in our body.  They come from our surrounding environment (home, cars, offices, cities, etc), the food we eat, and the products we put on our bodies.  This is why eating organic, and using natural body care products are so important.  However, in today world its important to avoid them completely.  When looking at my Blood Calculator Results I have had some markers for toxicity.  While not alarmingly bad it probably could be better.  Well I have finally found a time in my life where I can try and address this.

I will be following the Walsh Detox Protocol.   This protocol involves certain foods, supplements, and sauna, as well as fasting.  The food consists of lean protein (chicken/turkey breast, and white fish), cruciferous vegetables, mung beans.  As far as liquids are concerned you can have water, Honeybush tea, Rooibos tea, and black coffee.  Throughout the 10 day protocol you are in a caloric deficit.  On days 7-10 you implement a fasting mimicking diet.  Here is my caloric breakdown for the 10 days

Each day you do 30 minutes of exercise before doing 30 minutes of sauna.  The exercise is anything that allows you to get your heart rate elevated to get you warm and start to sweat.  For example 3 minutes warming up on the treadmill, then 12 minutes of 30 seconds hard run followed by 30 seconds easy job, then finish with 15 minutes of easy jogging.

The supplements I will be taking can be found here and consist of

– (1) St. Johns Wort

– (1) CoQ10 w/PQQ

– (1) Four Strain Lactobacilli

– (1) PaleoFiber

– (1) Chitosan

– (3) Activated Charcoal

– (1) Modified Citrus Pectin

Over the next 10 days I will be documenting my experience with the protocol.  I probably won’t do 10 posts (1 for each day) since it will be pretty much the same each day but I will try and highlight key points as I go through the 10 days.  Have questions, let me know below!
